Real Innovations in Real Time

I just got off another Zoom session with some phenomenal school leaders from across the U.S. Here are some of the best ideas I gleaned. Bullet form as always for brevity - feel free to ask for more detail if needed.

1. Teachers Touch - 3x a week (whenever is most convenient for them), teachers get together via Zoom and answer two questions - "How are you doing?" "What do you need?" - the teachers take care of each other.
2. Daily video announcement recorded from a head of school - continuity from the rest of the year. We ALL need continuity now.
3. One group of administrators recorded themselves singing "Happy Birthday" (with outtakes) and have been sending a message with the video to individual students.
4. Sunshine Groups for teachers - teams looking for ways to encourage teachers
5. Assigning different staff members to different webinars to look for tools and then systematically sharing information to maximize online learning right now
6. SeeSaw continues to be go to place for elementary learning and feedback
7. Zoom and Canvas have been invaluable as platforms for multiple schools
8. Virtual chapel happening three times a week
9. Surveying parents, teachers, and students on what is and is not working
10. GRACE - nothing is going to be perfect - stay focused on people and what students really need to know
