Student engagement "moving at the speed of trust"

Today, on two more great micro xchanges with education leaders from across the country, we tackled STUDENT ENGAGEMENT. Instead of a bunch of tools (see below if you need more of those), I want to share some of the great insights I heard. The quotation at the top of this entry was from Chuck Commeret who shared this as  a 6-word memoir about his experience related to distance learning. Students will create their own tomorrow. Such a profound statement about the connection between engagement, learning and trust.

Other key insights:

1. "We need to help teachers understand that more is not necessarily better" or more rigorous!
2. Instead of grading every math problem, "I have them screencastify a few problems" - records screen and goes directly to Google drive - math teacher from Kenya
3. We need to build consistent systems with as few new technologies as possible. 
4. We've asked students to give a shoutout of encouragement to teachers for best practices in distance learning using FlipGrid. We have also asked for feedback on practices that are not working.
5. "Everything we have tried to facilitate has not gone as well as when students went rogue and did it themselves."
